Today, I finally made myself subscribing a new IPTV service, HyppTV.

You probably know that HyppTV is a pay TV service like Astro, but HyppTV is a full IPTV service, owned by Telekom Malaysia.

Some people will ask about the main difference of HyppTV and Astro.

Well, HyppTV here has less channels compared to Astro, but HyppTV here has specialities, including all Full HD HyppSports and Fox Sports channels series, Sony Channel, RTL CBS Entertainment and Extreme, Now International and Jelli, well plus NHK and Bloomberg, and also Outdoor Channel and Channel NewsAsia HD for free viewing. Unlike Astro, HyppTV Channels are predominantly HD, so that the channels here are fewer than Astro, although there will be Fox channels and AXN in the future, while they will run HD, along with free Malaysian channels.

Since Malaysia is a Muslim majority channel, it also features Salam HD, a High definition islamic channel compared to NJOI Oasis.

While Astro runs on satellite with a smart card, HyppTV uses internet protocol service and differs mainly on style.

Some people will ask me, "Is it worthy for HyppTV compared to Astro?" I say, "Well, yes. The HyppTV is internet-based pay television, best with high speed internet, Unifi."

Benefits of HyppTV to me is I can watch my favorite Formula One on HD, on Fox Sports, as long as with a better internet connection speed, while HyppTV here is a pioneer of TVN Movies, a Singaporean based South Korean movie channel and features Screen RED by HBO. Unlike Astro, FOX Sports runs HD for all channels on Unifi along with HyppSports, so it's fair and economical to HyppTV, which is good for viewiers.

Often, I have a feeling about HyppTV and what it feels positive to me is there is no any nasty Chinese New Year commercials on HyppTV, especially the Wastsons one that features Leng Yein the "Asia No. 1 Female DJ", which is highly denounced by majority of Malaysians and Singaporean, and also Hong Kong people for negative aura among her as being No, 1 Female DJ. Speaking about HyppTV, since there is no any Astro channels here, including the Chinese-language one, there will be no Astro Xiao Tai Yang the NJOI kids channel, so that I can forget the channels of Xiao Tai Yang, that Xiao Tai Yang is inferior compared to other Astro in house Chinese channel, thanks to the dropping viewership and less concerns, that the viewers of Xiao Tai Yang is aging and started changing tastes heavily.

Well, there are some different on HyppTV about Chinese language channels. Speaking of the Ruby Pack, Chinese language channels are foreign channels, including TVB8 by TVBI. Unlike Astro, there is no in house Mandarin language channels compared to Malay one and VOD, so there will be no any CNY albums by HyppTV, and no any nasty CNY commercial by Astro, it which they relate nothing to me, as a genuine Formula One and TVB fan. As in HyppTV, you may never think about Show Unplugged, as well as National Kids Talent Show on Kah Lai Toi, due to the closure of this channel on October 1 2017, the last day of Formula One Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix, thanks to the declining viewership, just as the declining ticket sales in Malaysia Grand Prix, and there will be no Life Inspired, a Malaysian-based English language channels, in which the channel also shut down from broadcasting, also with viewership reasons.

Yes, HyppTV here has benefits, but there are also disadvantages. Yes, the internet connection is an issue, since Malaysian internet service is highly criticized for low internet speed and high costs, that can only never happened when Malaysia has better internet management with better director, to enforce the IPTV power in Malaysia. But one thing you may never think about on HyppTV is watching TVB drams on TVB Jade and Astro On Demand, while you may never think about watching Miss Astro, and also Miss Hong Kong on HyppTV, since it's broadcasted live on TVB Jade and Wah Lai Toi, as there is no any HyppTV in house Chinese language channels. For me, I highly recommend Astro Wah Lai Toi on HyppTV, and also TVB Jade, so that HyppTV viewers can enjoy Miss Astro and TVB dramas legally on HyppTV, without the use of Astro, while it can reduce pirate decryption.

As a HyppTV fan, I believe that Malaysia needs a Mercedes AMG Petronas internet speed with Perodua price, so that Malaysians can enjoy these type of internet, just as in Singapore does, while Singapore internet speed is Mercedes AMG Petronas with Perodua price. Within this, HyppTV can rule the Malaysia and send the living daylights out of Astro, while Astro is criticized for confusing package with some problems. This is my opinion here. Thanks for viewing my article.

This is Manuel Smith, a Master level HyppTV fan, signing off.
