Today , I am going to talk about a film series, Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a film series, produced independently by Marvel Entertainment under it's subsidiary, Marvel Studios.

You probably know that Marvel here enjoys box office success with co-production of super hero films from 1998 with the release of Blade, but Marvel believe that they can contribute more with producing film independently with Paramount as distributor, sharing same universe.

The first MCU film is Iron Man, that gained acclaim and box office success, and the second MCU film is The Incredible Hulk, by Universal.

Marvel products didn't belong to Disney until 2009, when Disney took over the Marvel for USD 4billion, for future MCU production. Starting in 2012, Disney distributes film fully, with being The Avengers in 2012.The film received acclaim and box office success, earning USD 1.519 billion at box office, ranked as second in the film being distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, behind only Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

From 2013, Paramount Pictures logo was removed and new Marvel logo was introduced, starting with Thor: The Dark World. Under Disney, Marvel also produces MCU TV series for ABC and Netflix along with ABC Studios, including Agents of SHIELD, Agent Carter, Inhumans, Daredevil,Luke Cage, and etc.

In 2016, starting with Doctor Strange, a new Marvel Studios logo was introduced and new fafare was composed by Michael Giacchino, an Academy winning musician. The Marvel fanfare is different in Spider-Man: Homecoming, when classic Spider-Man theme became the fanfare of Marvel Studios.

Although Marvel Cinematic Universe films use ending credits in most of their films, there are some exception, including The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man and Guardians of the Galaxy film series, where they use opening credits at the beginning of these films.

You may think that Marvel films are all Disney, but actually not. The Incredible Hulk and Spider-Man film series are not distributed by Disney, instead being distributed by Universal and Sony Pictures separately. Spider-Man, whom Sony owned it from 2002, still maintains the copyright even though Sony sold the Spider-Man rights back to Marvel for future Marvel Cinematic Universe at the beginning of 2015, thanks to the Sony Pictures security leak caused by The Interview that Sony had experienced loss. Under Sony's ownership, Sony still distributes Spider-Man films under MCU, though Spider-Man is still existed in Disney MCU films like Captain America: Civil War. Spider-Man: Homecoming still uses A Columbia Pictures Release at the end credits, after Sony:Be Moved instead of Disney, due to the copyright ownership of Sony Pictures.  Also, The Incredible Hulk, Universal owned it from 2003, before the introduction of Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Universal still retains the copyright of Hulk in Marvel Cinematic Universe as distributor, though Hulk is still can seen in Marvel Cinematic Universe films under Disney.

These are my little reviews about Marvel Cinematic Universe. And I hope you can enjoy it.
