Maze Runner

Today, I am going to talk abut Maze Runner, a teen sci-fi action thriller series by Fox Entertainment Group.

Due to copyright reasons, I will make it as spoiler alert.

The Maze Runner is a series created by James Dashner, an aspiring novelist from Georgia. The Maze Runner series contains three main stories and two prequels, beginning with The Kill Order and The Fever Code, Then The Maze Runner, Scorch Trails and Death Cure.

The story centers around teenagers and WICKED (World In Catastrophe: Killzone Experiment Department), an organization that wishes to find the cure from the Flare. The Sun Flares were apocalyptic event that kills billions of people in the world thanks to the natural disasters, including tsunami and etreme heat. Shortly afterwards, a group of people created a virus known as the Flare deliberately to control the population of earth. Unfortunately, due to the uncontrollable diseases, the real catastrophe begun. Henceforth, they established WICKED to create a cure from Immune and non-Immune through various trails, including Maze and the Scorch to find the best one for creating cure.

The Maze Runner introduces Thomas, a young teenager whom he is unconscious in the Maze arena before he cooperated with his Immune team, aka Gladers, with members including Minho, Newt, Gally, Teresa and Frypan. Under various challenges including the automatic gate, they finally completed the trials when they are rescued by WCKD officers before the Scorch Trials, whom they lacer faced a trail in Scorch, that happened on the strong heat desert, when they ford to fight against the Cranks, a group of speaking zombies caused by the Flare. There, they meet The Right Arms, a resistance group against WCKD, where WCKD is secretly having a plan to capture the Immune in order to find a cure to stop the Flare from escalating. Shortly afterwards, Teresa, a member of the Glader has revealed their location to WCKD and leading the capture of Minho, when Teresa believes WCKD has good intentions.

After the capture of Minho and the Immunes, Thomas forces to ally with The Right Arms to fight WCKD with their own military power. Although they saved a part of Immunes, Minho is captured and sent to human medical experiment to create a cure, in the underground lab. Thomas and Gladers were captured by some masked men, while one of them is Gally, whom he is alive and now the member of The Right Hand. Within the help of Gally, Thomas and the Newt escort Teresa into WCKD headquarters after Teresa successfully removes the trackers that was implemented by WCKD. During the trip in WCKD headquarters, they started having a fight with Janson the Rat Man, and his armies, whom they finally won thanks to the help of Minho, whom he awakes and defeats the research team. When Newt was infected with The Flare after the fight, he has no choice but to fight and stab him, and having a confrontation with Ava Paige, whom she tells that WCKD intentions are good for the world, before she was shot to her death by Janson, whom he is now the Crank. Janson later abducts Thomas to extract his blood and the cure. During the extraction, Janson reveals that the cure is only used for people whom he please, much to the anger of Teresa, whom she later fights with Janson and Janson loses, being eaten alive by the Crank. After the fight, Thomas and Teresa rush themselves to get evacuated by The Right Arms. Although Thomas is saved, Teresa later falls herself into the flame along with the building, much to Thomas' horror.

The next day, the awaken Thomas finds that he is now in a save haven, which is now belongs to The Right Arms and The Immunes and later, they build a memorial tomb for those deceased, which is engraved with their names.

Based on this, The Maze Runner is a surviving games for teen Immunes, whom it becomes a warfare against WCKD along the Right Arms, whom they later won themselves against WCKD thanks to the well disciplined fighters, well plus integrity and unity, whom they believe that unity is a strength to fight against the devil that causes the catastrophe around the world. This films also depicts friendships among Thomas and the Gladers, and also the Right Arms, while also depicts the romantic relationship among Thomas and Teresa, whom she later sacrificed herself at the end of story.

The Maze Runnner is a successful 20th Centuty Fox science fiction franchises, that this franchise goes well in box office, though this series receives mixed reviews from the critics.
